I'm having problems connecting two ipads both running lemur to one machine running Ableton live 9.
I presume this is possible?
I'm using midi not OSC. Both templates are configured to different midi channels to prevent conflicts.
Both work when the other is not connected.
When connecting the second ipad the first drops out.
I've tried selecting midi channel 2 for the second device but is doesn't work. The template is configured to output midi on channel two. As it shows in Ableton.
Any suggestions
2X ipad Setup guide???
Re: 2X ipad Setup guide???
Besides different midi channels you need to configure different Daemon targets. For example set all your template objects in one iPad to target 0 and all template objects of second iPad on target 1.

Re: 2X ipad Setup guide???
hear ya! You 'll still be needing diff midi channels though - as your DAW wont be able to "discriminate" the different targets.
In other words, different midi channels make sure the "receiver" software doesnt get any confilcts, different midi targets make sure Lemur itself doesnt have any confilcts when working with more than one iPad.

Re: 2X ipad Setup guide???
Ok both the objects on the two iPads have different targets.
Ipad 1 target 0
Ipad 2 target 1
Ipad 1 midi channel 1
Ipad 2 midi channel 2
Both iPads are now controlling things in ableton.
But I can only get midi feedback working on one.
It's like I connect ipad 1 and it works both sending and receiving midi.
When I connect ipad 2 which also sends and receives midi, ipad 1 stops receiving midi. Like its been bumped off.
Ipad 1 still sends midi.
Is their a correct connection proceedure to stop this happening.

Re: 2X ipad Setup guide???
In each target connect a different pair of virtual midi cables....
You need a total of 4 midi ports set in Ableton - two for incoming messages, one for each target. Likewise, you need another 2 for outgoing messages (feedback) one for each target.

Re: 2X ipad Setup guide???
I have two different virtual midi port selected in Ableton.
Daemon 0 TRACK ON / REMOTE ON
Daemon 1 TRACK ON / REMOTE ON
Daemon 0 TRACK ON / REMOTE ON
Daemon 1 TRACK ON / REMOTE ON
Re: 2X ipad Setup guide???
Ok might this be my problem... Page 27 of the manual.
Lemur Tab.
The Local IP setting lets you choose which of your computer’s local IP addresses the Lemur Editor
will use for connecting to Lemur. This menu may contain multiple listings for the different
networks you have connected to. The IP of the currently connected Lemur is also displayed.
Maybe i have to select both my ipads?
When i make connections in Daemon, the IP pops up (but It flickers between both my ipads) Two different IP's.
Is there a way to configure both ipads so the IP's are displayed together.
Cheers
