Live 9/windows 8 not showing lemur daemon
Live 9/windows 8 not showing lemur daemon
I seem to be able to connect the ipad to the program on my laptop. But when I open live, the daemon isn't showing anything. I have the in/out ports set to 0...past that I am not sure what I am missing. thoughts?
Re: Live 9/windows 8 not showing lemur daemon
Daemon creates additional virtual midi ports only in Mac OS. For Windows an additional "virtual midi cable" software must be installed. Then you connect Daemon to the ports created by this application and you also use them in your desired software.
Here's a freebie most Windows Lemurians use.....

The logic actually is
Lemur -> Daemon -> virtual midi port 1-> software to be controlled
and for bi-directional feedback
software controlled -> virtual midi port 2 -> Daemon -> Lemur

Re: Live 9/windows 8 not showing lemur daemon
I got something similar. I'm using the loopbe virtual midi. Will give that specific one a try later though
Re: Live 9/windows 8 not showing lemur daemon
LoopBe should be sufficient too....if you got the free version though, not sure if it provides two distinct ports...Im using the paid LoopBE30 - works like a charm!
edit: again, do not expect to see "Daemon" listed in your to-be-controlled software.....you need to set up the "internal midi" ports there and then in Daemon.

Re: Live 9/windows 8 not showing lemur daemon
Hmm. The only step where I'm stuck is ablation doesn't see the daemon loopbe midi ports I set up using the lemur daemon. Basically once I open Ableton, the ports don't show up...though loopbe is there as options through other things that I've used it for like touchable.
Re: Live 9/windows 8 not showing lemur daemon
Thats weird....so you are saying, that the LoopBe ports do not appear in Ableton? It doesnt make a difference to "where" those are connected (Daemon or otherwise) - they should be visible there...
Perhaps the combo LoopBE-Live 9 - Win8 causes this? Not sure!

Re: Live 9/windows 8 not showing lemur daemon
The ports show up, but as touchable server ports. Not daemon ports. Of that males sense.
Re: Live 9/windows 8 not showing lemur daemon
Ok Im starting to think we are lost in translation here.... I do not own-use Touchable so I cant comment or know how it appears....
I just only know for sure, and this is what Im trying to say that in Ableton there will not be ANY indication of "Daemon" and that is perfectly normal....
For example in my set up I have in Daemon "Internal Midi 1" and "Internal Midi 2" set up as Lemur 0 in and out....In Ableton Live ALL I see, and ALL it sees, is
"Internal Midi 1" and "Internal Midi 2".... You enable those as "remote" and thats all there is to it.
Perhaps try to disable touchable momentarily for those ports, to see if it works then?
off the top of my head....

Oh! Because touch able control script was assigned, loop be was given that name. Think I just sorted it out
