velocity sensative xy pad?

Post by whitelobster »

Hello,

Is there a way to make an xy pad or multiball sensative to whether or not you have your finger on it? I am attempting to create an xy pad for use with sweeping sounds so that if my finger touches the pad it will trigger a note on, and when I pull my finger away it will trigger a note off, I am open to making a midi interpreter in Max also that would convert whatever info from the xy pad into midi velocity data, but first I have to figure out how to get lemur to send data that indicates whether or not my finger is touching the surface of my ipad or not. I could of course create a max patch that would trigger a note whenever the data changes but that would create a situation where a new note was being triggered every time I moved my finger slightly.

would love any suggestions

thanks!

Use the "z" of the multiball object - it's for the "touch" parameter you're looking for.

in fact, the z parameter is for touch in all the objects.
