Displaying Bars/Beats Data from Logic

Post by jeremyz »

Is anyone doing this with Lemur on the iPad? I'd love to be able have a little mixer with a bar counter display when conducting for recording sessions. Any info on how to get the bars/beats from Logic would be much appreciated!

Perhaps look into using Mackie Control emulation?

Does MC provide the relevant output for Lemur?

Logic is OSC native, so maybe it provides the means to access the info directly - not a Logic user here so just spitballing. Oddly enough, we don't seem to get many people asking about Logic round these parts.

There are a few of us around. My only interest in Lemur is in controlling Logic and AUs like a Kontakt 5. Using it as a tool to have more realistic sounding performances and also speed up my automation process. So far it seems to be doing both of those things quite well. Making custom templates for all of my sample libraries. Just completed my first one for Sample Modeling Brass which I will post shortly. Got a lot of help from Softcore. This is a great forum!

This probably doesn't do what you're looking for specifically as per the OP, but might be useful for the cause:

I don't know how useful, seeing as Logic supports OSC, but what the hey . . .ummm . . . daddio. VST2OSC - it's what the kids are into.

appreciate the responses. that plugin looks very useful but i don't think it's going to get me the counter info. i wonder how to access that data from logic. a friend of mine suggested bringing reaktor into the equation. according to him, it can access the daw's transport data. i wonder if it can specifically access the bars/beats...

also took a look at the mackie template. although it's for cubase perhaps it'll be able to work with logic. will DL and report back...
