Testing template in the Editor?

Post by Kaatza_Music »

OK. A couple of quick questions:

Is there any way to test a project in the Editor? It always seems to be in Edit mode.

Part of the problem I have is no way of connecting the Editor to the App on my iPad. My MacPro does not have an air card, so I have the iPad connect with a Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer 2, which works fine to send MIDI back and forth but it doesn't connect the iPad app to the Editor itself. The Power Mac is plugged into the same wireless router that the iPad is connected to via WiFi, but when I open connection on the Editor, Lemur on my iPad does not show up.

I guess I can save projects from the editor and then import them via iTunes?

Hi
See Appendix 1 in the manual - Keyboard shortcuts ...
Hold down the 'E' key to enter 'Execute' mode . . .
User interface then responds to cursor control

^ This works for testing internal consistency for the template, but doesn't allow you to test external functionality like actual control of the target application.

You should definitely be able to sync the Editor to the app via the router. Perhaps we can assist you in setting that up?

Thanks, Joe. I took the path of least resistance. I stole (well borrowed) my wife's laptop and downloaded the windows version of the editor. It is hooked up to same WiFi as my iPad so I was instantly able to connect Editor to the Lemur app and still have my iPad plugged into the MIDI of my MacPro so now I can write complex scripts, push them to the app and test them all at the same time. Made all the difference in the world and now I've gotten a lot of things working that I had been struggling with. I did look for the short cut E key in the manual and on the Forum but just couldn't find it. Anyway all is good. Thanks for your help and offer for assistance.
