Hello
Ok I have spent too much time on this one so please help me.
I'm running qb edit on the Lemur on iPad 1 (A) with an ad hoc (D-Link wireless usb adapter) setup work just fine.
I run the VSL (Vienna Symphonic Library) remote app on iPad 1 (B) with a browser set up (modem wifi) it work just fine, however it shuts off the connection of my ad hoc.
The internet is not being used by the computer in question which is running on Windows 7. (the modem is providing internet to other computers via a D-Link router)
So one iPad is to run Cubase and the other to control VSL App.
One connection uses ad hoc the other browser modem wifi.
What is the best way to set this up?
Is ad hoc a bad idea should I be using some kind of kit with the iPad.
cheers

You can join both iPads to the ad hoc set up on the D-Link simultaneously.

VSL Remote, I believe needs a browser setup to work.
Perhaps you could go into more detail thanks.

Ahhh . . . you first mate. I'm not researching VSL Remote and how it works vis a vis needing a browser. Not that needing a browser necessarily matters.

Re: 2 ipads 2 wifi set ups one computer
I did get response from George at VSL saying that the hadn't tested an ad hoc configuration.
He said that ad hoc is very unreliable in nature.
VSL specifically give instruction on setting up with a browser configuration.
I'm just having a hard time getting my head around how not to use the browser set up.
I was hoping someone could explain the possible conflicts that could be occurring with the 2 types of wireless configs
If you have any links that are an easy read on this type of setups please let me know I really need to get up to speed with all of this.
Cheers

I still don't know wtf you're talking about when you say "setting up with a browser configuration".
Do you mean that VSL has something like a web-setup you point your browser at (like a network router may, for instance)?
Explain how that works. Where does the browser live, on the computer or the iPad? What is the address you point the browser at etc?
We're not psychic ya know.
The real key here is that you don't need two separate network connections or adaptors to connect both iPads to the computer, in fact it's probably folly to try.
Don't listen to George at VSL, he didn't test his product on an ad hoc connection and therefore doesn't have too much too add at this juncture because you my friend, you get to test it!

All is explained in the original post.
If I could tell you more I would hence my request for help.
I have spent many hours trying different settings and testing but will do some more research and share the results.
cheers
