Lemur Editor on win 8 ?
Lemur Editor on win 8 ?
Hello,
I just installed the editor on a win 8 machine.
The application icon shows up in the available programs.
When I click on it it I got the blue logo in the lower bar as it was open but it doesn't show any window.
The Ipad on which Lemur is installed is not connected to the pc.

AH !
I noticed a grey thin line on the very top of the monitor.
I managed to move it and noticed it was something open up there.
Then I have stretched it and finally there it is !
I don't know if it is a win8 bug or what but there it is.
Now I go into it...

Re: Lemur Editor on win 8 ?
hi,
yes i have the same problem.
i managed to stretch in but i can't transfer it on the middle of the screen. it stays at the top side of the window.
the same problem remains with daemon.
also when i try to transfer it on the other pc screen it stucks in the middle of the screens.
i think these are bugs and need update.

Re: Lemur Editor on win 8 ?
Yes, this is very annoying.
I installed it on another win8 machine with the same results.
Plus:
when I go to knob> object properties > type > select bipolar Lemur editor crashes.
Constant routine.
I think it really needs an update.
Liine ?

Re: Lemur Editor on win 8 ?
well,
this is two times bad !
one because it is a strong limitation, two because it's not been fixed yet !

Re: Lemur Editor on win 8 ?
Is anyone from Liine watching this topic ?
I think the editor needs serious update to make Lemur usable.
Is there any word on this or is it just not important enough ?
thanks,
Luca

I don't think the skillset exists at the company, or this would have been fixed long ago.

this is serious trouble then.Joe Soap wrote:I don't think the skillset exists at the company, or this would have been fixed long ago.
It doesn't make me feel a happy customer.
Is there a return policy ?
Re: Lemur Editor on win 8 ?
I believe Apple have a return policy in place, but it's quite a short period after purchase.
It's not worth returning the product over though - great steaming pile of poo that it is, the Editor is still (very) basically functional.
A workaround exists for Windows 8 (and 7, and Vista - any of the DWM / Compositing OSes).

^ This works, and it works well. I found it when looking for a way to help control Max windows when editing in M4L but found that it operates on the Lemur Editor (and Daemon) windows perfectly well. There are a few minor caveats, but the main one is that the Lemur windows really don't like going abobe a certain size and they REALLY REALLY don't like rendering offscreen AT ALL.
So click on the Numpad / Compass widget in WSR . . . the central button - set them up how you want them to be . . . maximised (within their limits) works best IME, and just have a play around with it. It's quite a useful little application for window management generally - the fact it helps with this issue is just gravy.
Stick with it - I think the situation will improve radically this coming year. Ducks in a row, momentum sorta thing.
