.... Okay, I've managed to botch an ad hoc connection between a laptop and my iPad and managed to get the Lemur editor on the laptop connected to the Lemur App. Didn't work how I expected it to (I said it was botched!) but it worked.

So, on here I was able to create a fader, assigning to the MIDI CC for the parameter I've been trying to control .... Now the important bit - I set the scale for this fader in the Lemur editor from the default 0-127 to the desired 0-3. Now I connect the iPad to the computer (I'm using an IK iRig MIDI interface for the iPad) .... BINGO! the fader now controls the parameter correctly. Works best with the grid enabled on the fader.

So, the problem is DEFINITELY that I cant set the scale in the iPad App. If I could do this I'd be in business ;)

Ok i now see what the problem is - lack of "range" setting in the in-app editor.....truth is, I dont use it at all - i prefer the computer editor and i think most of the users pretty much know that the in-app editor is, for the time being, a stripped-down version of the editor...

It's actually the 'scale' setting that is missing. Range can be added with a script but I don't think you can script the scale setting.

Anyway, I've managed to get around the issue by linking to the Lemur Editor on a laptop with an ad hoc network. From here I was able to download the template I'd made from the Lemur App, add the scaling and then place the template back on the iPad with the changed (by disconnecting the iPad in the editor and then re-connecting). Then I just saved the updated template in the App. I was of course also able to save the template onto the laptop so all good.

I think a combination of the in App editor and the Lemur Editor works best for me. Some things are easier to do in the App Editor others easier using the Lemur Editor. I'm just glad I got the thing working for me ;) Very pleased with my first template (for Reason 6.5's Viking synth Rack Extension), which once completed (going to add more pages) I will share.
