I was monitoring port 8001 along with other ports, to see what's going on in my network. The issue was, that Lemur and my Mac sometimes established a connection, sometimes it didn't work on the same wifi with the same preferences (means static IPs and whatnot). UPDATE:

iOS 6.1 seems to have the same issues like the previous version...
In Max 6 you get an initial response on port 8001 saying "/lemur [name of your iDevice] 4000 0" and nothing else afterwards.
This is a serious pain..
