Maximum script length

At about 4000 characters in a script my Lemur Editor accepts no more text. Editing the script give all kinds of strange behaviour like going to the very start or end of the script.
Is 4 Kb the maximum length of a script?
Is there a maximum to the total length of the script texts in a project?
