Enable/Unable switch for some functions on the page?

Hi all-
Sorry, I am not familiar with script or other command yet, so please give me an advice if I want to achieve this goal.
Does anybody know if it is possible to create a switch-like object which works as an enable/unable button of certain controls which I also created on the page. The goal is so that I accidentally won't hit other objects and trigger something unwanted, while we can see the status of those objects.
