Hi everybody,
really nice to see this new forum online
I think it would be nice to share our experiences in this thread regarding the pc world.

I'm on the point to buy the lemur application and it would be nice to know if there are issues with it or at least known problems...

What's the best way to inteconnect ipad-lemur to a pc? I know it's a real basic question but perhaps some "sytems" work better than others...
wifi?

Any comment, help, recommandation are welcome.

All the best

Mat
Hi Mathieu,

Lemur Editor should run smoothly on Windows 7.

There are several options to connect your Lemur to your PC.
- WiFi using a computer-to-computer direct connection (ad-hoc).
- USB with an adaptor such as iConnect MIDI.

For now I would recommend that you use WiFi which is quite reliable. Please refer to this video tutorial on how to connect your PC through Wi-Fi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEUyWZpVv0Q

Please let me know if you have any further questions and I will gladly assist you.

Cheers,
Marino.
Hi Marino, thank's for the fast answer.
I'll post all my experiences about it soon. Looking forward to contribute to this thread!
All my sincere congratulations for genious work lemur team.
Best regards :)
I just got it, looks amazing but I can't seem to set up a connection with my desktop PC. The video tutorial only shows setting up an ad-hoc network but that option is not even available for me. It must be possible to connect to my existing network via my router, no? All my other apps do this fine, via RtpMIDI. Lemur Daemon does detect my iPad, everything seems fine but I can't get any MIDI messages to either Cubase or the Standalone NI apps I've tried.

Edit: I've installed LoopMIDI as well, and created a LemurPort there, which gets recognized by the Daemon, but still no luck in receiving MIDI in Cubase.

(Windows 7 64bit, Cubase 6.05, iPad1)

Thankful for any suggestions.
Thanks for the reply. I actually got it working now by setting up another port in loopMIDI. I think I did everything right the first time, no idea why it didn't work. Do you know if it should work with rtpMIDI though? Seems like the standard for most apps to connect to windows with (and uses coreMIDI).
hello Littlemachine,
cool that you were successfull in making it work properly.
Do you know why exactly now? I mean this supplementary midi port added seemes to make the difference....
any suggestions?
LoopMIDI doesn't have no loop protection, so it simply doesn't allow any application to connect to an in or out port already configured/setup for another application. Great tool though, very reliable. Should be the same with rtpMIDI, but I have not testet it.
I'm connecting to w7 over standard wi-fi connection, without needing to do ad-hoc connection. I think this is because I have midi yoke installed on my laptop, which I'd previously installed to use with touch osc before buying lemur.
Connected Lemur over router, and the Griid too, and Kapture Pad....and TouchOSC.....works perfectly... :)

Can use it all at the same time, it just works, no error, no crash, on Win7....i had some minor problems with Griid, but i sorted it out ;)

To be honest, i did not expect Lemur on iPad, Liine deserves a GREAT support. :ugeek:
hi all,

This whole wireless thing is driving me nuts :? .. and others by the sounds.

My question is , is it possible to connect iconnectmidi straight in to iphone, i pad and run Ableton 8 with Touch osc and Lemur.
I have not tried this as that can and is an expensive unit.
But if it can do this simple it seems worth picking up
Also the connection to the Laptop USB ? to get to Ableton.

I am running Windows 7 with Ableton 8, Iphone 4 , maybe invest in an ipad for midi control if iconnect will do the job ?
this wifi deal is too much bother

It is really not...! as i said, i run Griid, KapturePad, TouchOSC AND Lemur all in the same time and use it to controll Ableton and VSTs, Reason 5.....
No conflict, no errors, works perfect.

You just need to read the manual carefully, and do exactly as they say :)

What troubles you at the most?

Yes you are right thanks..i followed the manual from the Liine site and downloaded Midi Yoke and now Lemur is working well :D .
But still having problems connecting Touch OSC ... just downloaded the new windows Midi Bridge for it from there site.
Let you know how that goes.
Thanks.
Psyk wrote:I am very happy you succeed!

If u run into a problem, ask! ;)
Hi i cant get Touch OSC working ..
I want to get Kapture and other apps but if not working smooth am a little hesitent

Can i run these other applications just as i run Lemur or similar because that works ?
With Touch osc i am getting a signal when operate a slider to my router but nothing in Ableton.
I am using Midi Yoke .. or .. the new midi bridge .. or rtp midi that i did have success using when first tried months ago
now maybe my system is clogged with so many midi options i cant find relevant one

So run wireless router midi yoke with pd extended and midiloop or rtp midi or midi bridge .. to many options brain crash haha :o ..

Thanks :?
Well, i use only MIDIYoke, it works perfectly, to run TouchOSC you got to have or PD, or bridge, (have not tried it with bridge yet) and to run Griid you need Griid connector, and for Kapture you need Kapture connector, all found on Liine web.
but you really do not need TouchOSC if you have Lemur....?

Remove all other virtual midi other than midiyoke.

Hi again yes you are right i do not so much need touch OSC now i have Lemur.
I guess i just wanted to work it out.
I tried again no dice with Touch.
Sorry did not look into griid and kapture will now about the connections :o
And then i will delete all midi ports except Midi Yoke and pd extended.
Thanks for your help i will get back to you about this :D

BTW first try with Lemur was perfect connection through Daemon well done Liine for intuative set up 8-)
Psyk wrote:Hm, do you use that App which convert TouchOSC editor template into PD file?
well at the moment i am using the Lemur editor to build a interface to use.. :D
And also installing and setting up Kapture Pad look forward to using :D
let you know how that goes i do see this information about Live Control touch editor setting up PD file before maybe something for me to look into later :)
Thanks
