Multi selection in project window?

Hi
Please excuse the simplicity of this question,but I cant find an answer anywhere.
I'm trying to select multiple items in the project window and the usual methods of shift clicking doesn't work and was wondering if there is a way to do this. I know I can do it on the main screen,but trying to select overlaid hidden menus is a. real struggle if not impossible at times.

So far, I have not been able to do it either, although I wish I could at times (copying and pasting multiple scripts and expressions). Maybe put it on the wishlist?

So it isn't just me not knowing,seams like a basic function,odd that it's been missed.
