Connects fine on OS X but not Win7

Been using the Lemur app on my MacBook for awhile and absolutely love it. A friend saw me using it and was intrigued, so we hopped on his desktop (Windows 7) and tried to set everything up.

Started running into connection issues and realised we needed LoopMidi so we installed that too and still nothing.

Literally everything is the same: same version of LemurDaemon, same patch, same version of Ableton Live 8 (Intro 64bit). Only difference is Windows vs OS X...

Is there any other bit of info I need to provide? Or any ideas where to look for things going wrong? We reinstalled everything and followed Liine's tutorial on how to use Midi over wifi for Windows but it's still not working.

One thing to check is whether there is any Firewall running.
You need to allow Lemur to connect on posts 8000 -8003 iirc
Or just have it turned off . .

Make sure to use static IP settings for an ad hoc network.

For what is worth, Im using Windows 7 and Lemur succesfully for years so I confirm it can and will work efficiently and with no problems when you find the culprit!

We've completely disabled the antivirus and connections are still not working correctly; the firewall is also disabled.

We can get the Lemur Editor to sync up with the Lemur app, sending data both ways works just fine. But when we open Ableton Live to try and get midi in that too, there's just nothing happening.

Static IPs aren't changing anything either.

I assume you have installed some sort of virtual midi cable driver in the Windows machine...correct?

In a nutshell you 'll have to have:

Lemur -> Daemon -> virtual midi cable 1 -> Ableton

and for feedback

Ableton -> viirtual midi cable 2 -> Daemon -> Lemur

They suggested we use LoopMidi, and we did. Even tried a few other tutorials, they all suggested LoopMidi.

Ok so what are your settings inside Ableton Live's "MIDI - sync" options?
