DSI Mono Evolver ipad app query

Hi, im trying out the Evolver app for ipad, running over WiFi thru Ableton.
Most of the parameters dont seem to react when i adjust them, which suggests only CC data and no sysex is is being transmitted. Is this because the midi is going thru Abelton, and Ableton doesnt understand sysex?
whats the way around this?

seems to be ableton. Bypassed ableton and routed direct seems to work better.
Ableton doesn't do SysEx whatsoever, and if I remember correctly the Evolver is SysEx dependent.
